2023 - HONOR is More Than a Luncheon

Showing a commitment to law enforcement and to the community in which we live and work, Evans General Contractors decided to brand and trademark its annual Police Appreciation Luncheon to HONOR, which stands for Honoring Our Neighborhood Officers & Responders. In its 4th year of providing this event, HONOR was given in more ways than one. To honor Master Police Officer Bradley Rocks, whose passing earlier this year was a huge loss to the Alpharetta Police Department where he served the community for 16 years as a Motor Officer and SWAT Sniper, his family and department were presented with plaques from Flags of Valor. Evans also worked with The Bridegan Foundation and with Lieutenant George Harrigan, a Public Information Officer (PIO) for the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office (SJSO) in Florida, to deliver and honor each department in attendance with a Bexley Box. Bexley Boxes are refillable kits that equip police stations with essential and comforting items to better care for traumatized children – the youngest and more delicate victims. These boxes mark the first Bexley Box in the state of Georgia and were the 41st, 42nd, and 43rd to be placed nationally to date.

This year, we again hosted Alpharetta, Milton, and Roswell Police departments to a lunch where our Evans Team, along with local business leaders had the opportunity to meet and personally thank our local heroes. The goal of this event is not only to honor our law enforcement and emergency response teams, but to also provide monetary support from local businesses to show appreciation for those who protect and serve. So many businesses donated financially as well as supported the event by providing raffle and/or goody bag items for the officers. We are always humbled by the show of support for our Officers and will continue to give HONOR wherever we can!
